About Awards

The FE Week and AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards are a celebration of excellence in apprenticeship delivery in the UK and provide an opportunity to give the recognition employers and providers deserve.

The awards were founded in 2017 and are part of the FE Week Annual Apprenticeship Conference.

Ian is the Chief Operating Officer, Paragon Skills Ian has been successfully working in the Further Education and Skills sector for over 20 years in a wide variety of roles across several reputable organisations; including both independent training providers and further education colleges. Ian is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Paragon Skills a national independent training provider responsible for the overall delivery of all aspects in the learner journey including high quality delivery and continuous improvement to enhance the learner experience. In addition to his role there, he is also a practicing Ofsted Inspector with over 20 years’ of hands-on experience, having carried out over 125 inspections with different remits across the sector including more recently, monitoring visits to new providers. As such, he has a very good understanding and detailed knowledge of the inspection framework and the impact Ofsted has on our sector. Ian also sits on the AELP Board and chairs the AELP Quality Advisory group, liaising closely with Ofsted and other key stake holders.
