About Awards

The FE Week and AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards are a celebration of excellence in apprenticeship delivery in the UK and provide an opportunity to give the recognition employers and providers deserve.

The awards were founded in 2017 and are part of the FE Week Annual Apprenticeship Conference.

Sharron Robbie MBE


Sharron was appointed as Managing Director of the Devon & Cornwall Training Provider Network in June 2016, following a career, which has seen her hold a number of key strategic roles at a senior level in both private and public sectors. She is also the joint-Chair of the AELP Regional Network (South) and plays an active role in facilitating clear messaging to and from local and regional levels to national stakeholder groups. She was recognised in the Queens New Year’s Honours list 2021 for her work in the Apprenticeships and Skills sector, with the award of an MBE for services to Apprenticeships and Skills. With a strong commercial background, Sharron is passionate about the South West and in how skills and training, and specifically, Apprenticeships can support individuals and businesses evolve, develop and grow. She represents more than 50 training providers from across Cornwall and Devon, and sits on a number of Boards and Special Interest Groups to ensure that Apprenticeships, training and skills are part of any future planned developments across the South West. Currently delivering on the Apprenticeships Support Knowledge (ASK) programme across Devon, Plymouth & Torbay, Sharron has a wealth of sector knowledge, particularly around post-16 education, including Apprenticeships and higher-level vocational studies.
