About Awards

The FE Week and AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards are a celebration of excellence in apprenticeship delivery in the UK and provide an opportunity to give the recognition employers and providers deserve.

The awards were founded in 2017 and are part of the FE Week Annual Apprenticeship Conference.

Jane is Chief Executive of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP). She is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring that AELP achieves its mission and objectives. Jane joined AELP in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer, before becoming Managing Director in July 2020 and Chief Executive in January 2021. Jane is also a member of the AELP board. Jane has a wealth of senior leadership experience gained in the not-for-profit sector. Prior to joining AELP, Jane was Operations & Corporate Partnerships Director for Groundwork, the national environmental charity. From this background, she offers members extensive experience in directing operations, developing strategy, and building relationships with government stakeholders and major employers. As Head of Regeneration at Genesis Housing Group, Jane pioneered large scale bids to win major projects in London and the South East. She also spent 7 years at West London Leadership, recruiting major corporates into a network which provided pro-bono support to the most hard-pressed communities. Jane graduated from University College Cork with a degree in Psychology. After graduating, she moved from Ireland to London, and then to South Wales. She is passionate about education and opportunity for everyone.
