The Awards were established in 2017 as a joint project by FE Week and AELP, with the national awards ceremony taking place the Annual Apprenticeship Conference Gala Dinner. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the 2021 ceremony & Gala Dinner will take place at the ICC, Birmingham on Thursday 8 July.

Open to all apprenticeship providers and employers in the UK, the apprenticeship awards are a competitive process with two types of awards, Route Awards and National Awards. The Awards recognise activity up to the end of July 2020.

National finalists will be announced during an online presentation on Thursday 29 April at 18:15, hosted by Rory Bremner. Watch here.

The key dates for AAC Apprenticeship Awards 2021
  • Nominations Open

    The search for the winners of the 2021 AAC Apprenticeship Awards officially commences, with a  call for nominations. Entry to the awards is free of charge and submissions can be submitted through our online platform.

  • Nominations Close

    All nominations must be submitted, in full, by the end of Friday 12 March 2021. Stage one of the awards process for 2021 is complete.

  • Review Process Commences

    All nominations will be reviewed to ensure they’ve been completed correctly and met key award criteria. A long-list will then be created in advance of a review from our judges.

  • Judging Panel Convenes

    Judges will meet to fully review this year’s nominations. During the day judges will select a shortlist and elect winners for each category.

  • Shorlist Announced

    A shortlist will be announced during the Annual Apprenticeship Conference 2021.

  • Gala Dinner & Awards Evening

    The AAC Apprenticeship Awards Gala Dinner & Awards evening will take place in Birmingham on Thursday 8th July. Tickets are now on sale.

Tickets for our spectacular Awards Evening are now available.

The AAC Apprenticeship Awards Gala Dinner & Awards is always a highlight of the Annual Apprenticeship Conference. The awards evening traditionally takes place at the end of the conference however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year’s awards evening will take place as a standalone event.

Following the latest Government guidance, we’re delighted to finally be able to confirm a date for when the event will take place.

On Thursday 8th July we will hold our Gala Dinner and Awards Evening at the ICC, Birmingham.

Alongside the announcement of the winners of this year’s AAC Apprenticeship Awards, we will also be holding a variety of fundraising activities on the night. We will announce our chosen charity in April.

Coronavirus refund policy

In the event we are unable to host this event due to a change in government regulations ticket buyers will be offered a 100% refund or a credit note towards the 2022 Gala Dinner Evening.
